Peter Drew
Peter Drew is an Australian artist whose work is concerned with memory, nationalism, criminality, brown paper & mythology. His work has been exhibited at major arts institutions around Australia, though his most prominent work is installed on city streets.
Drew’s poster series, Real Australians, represents a culturally pivotal conversation in the current Australian landscape. This work was placed within FOMO’s collection for its immediacy, its honesty & its examination of ideas crucial to the Fremantle identity - of diversity, belonging & history.
There are 5 prints in this current iteration as the first of three installations. The following displays will be pasted up over the existing, in the coming year.
ART LOCATION
Real Australians can be found pasted up on the brick wall, at the southern end of the Tidal Lane concourse.
